Early in World War II, he was appointed Minister of National Defence and soon after a visit to Britain in 1940, he was killed in a military plane crash on 10th June, while trying to reach Toronto when commercial planes were grounded by fog. He wrote two books, a LIFE OF MACKENZIE KING and D'IBERVILLE, and many articles on many subjects on which he was an authority. Like his brother Arthur, and their mother Grace MacLeod Rogers, they were all friends of Norman Magnus, Chief of the Clan MacLeod. Norman MacLeod Rogers married Frances Kierstead, with issue.
