Was born on 28th June 1862, was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh,
and Sandhurst. Commission in the 1st Black Watch (Royal Highlanders),
he joined it in Egypt, where he was present at the battles of the 1884-5
war, receiving the Egypt medal with clasps, and also the Khedive Star.
he was promoted Captain on 27th November 1889. Captain MacLeod was
killed in a railway accident at Thirsk on 2nd November 1892, when
returning to Gibraltar from leave. He was unmarried.
