Was born on 3rd July 1743, and was educated at King's College, Aberdeen, where he graduated M.A. on 30th March 1767. He became minister of South Uist on 2nd April 1773, and died on 5th November 1832. He married, on 28th November 1778, Marion, daughter of Angus MacDonald, 3rd of the MacDonalds of Milton, [CLAN DONALD, III, p. 281.] and niece of the 'celebrated' Flora MacDonald, with issue.
