Alexander,Š was born about 1760, studied medicine at the University of Aaberdeen, where he had a very successful career as a student. After finishing his course, he practised from some years in Bracadale and afterwards in Edinburgh. He then joind the Army, in which he rose rapidly, through, it is said, the influence of the Duke of York, and also of General Arthur Wellesley (afterwards Duke of Wellington). He served throughout the Mahratta War of 1800-1803. In consequence of an injury to his head, he was subject to periodic attacks of fever, which finally carried him off. At the time of his death, Dr. Morrison was Inspector-General of Hospitals, and physician to the Duke of York. He was survived by a son, who entered the Army, and died about 1840 in London.
