Patrick Earl of Athole their Son, was burnt in his own Lodging at Haddingtoun, anno 1241 (Chron. de Melross), whereupon his Estate and Title descended to his Mother's Sister, then the Wife of David Hastings, an English Gentleman (Chron. de Melross), by whom he had one Daughter, married to John de Strathbolgie (Sir James Balfour's Collections, M.S.)
