[Colonel William Nesbitt Wroughton was second sonof John Chardin
Wroughton, Madras Civil Service, and his second wife, Georgiana Grace
Chanmer, whose father was a Member of the Madras Council. John
Chardin Wroughton was son of George Wrought (1759-1806) of St.
Thomas Church, Salisbury. Colonel William Nesbitt Wroughton's wife
was Morgiana Charlotte Bird, daughter of General John Francis Bird
(1801-73), East India Company's Service (Information from
Lieut.-Colonel Roland T. W. MacLeod).
