Arthur Lyttleton MacLeod, born on 28th November 1802 at Ealing. He
was appointed Ensign of the 42nd Regiment on 12 December 1822 and
Lieutenant on 9th June 1825. He was transferred to the 2nd Battalion of
the 1st (or the Royal) Regiment of Foot stationed at Bangalore in India
and his Lieutenancy in this Regiment is dated 2nd March 1826. He
retired as Captain of the 86th Regiment in March 1841. By Royal
Warrant on 31st October 1844, he took the name of Annesley in
accordance with the will of his maternal uncle, George, 2nd Earl of
Mount Norris, Viscount Valentia, etc., on succeeding to his property. He
died on the 24th October 1882. He was married and had issue.
