!MENTION: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE MACLEODS--THE GENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society, 1968, pp. 12-13. Was born, on 25th November 1886, at Geelong, Victoria, and was educated at Junee High School, New South Wales. He was appointed 2nd Lieutenant in the Commonwealth Defence Forces in 1910, but was rejected for active service owing to defective eyesight. He held in succession several important military offices until 1916. Thereafter he took charg of a department in Wool and Stock Selling Company at Newcastle, New South Wales. He married, on 4th June 1912, Gertrude Victoria, daughter of Inspector Henry Teague Dixon, with issue.
