!BIOGRAPHY: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE MACLEODS--THE GENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society, 1968, p. 10. Was born on 6th April 1832, and studied for the ministry of the Free Church of Scotland at the Universities of ABerdeen and Edinburgh, and afterwards at the New College, Edinburgh. He was ordained and inducted to the Free Gaelic Church at Greenock, his only charge, on 17th November 1859. Never of a robust constitution, he suffered in Greenock from severe illnesses, and was ordered to spend the winter of 1870 in Torquay. He reached Bristol, where, in the station, he had a sever Haemorrhage, and was removed to a hotel, in which he died five days thereafter -- 21st November 1870. He was buried in Greenock. He was never married.
