Was born on 4th September 1870, was educated at the Universities of
St. Andrews and Aberdeen, Paris, Hamburg and Vienna. He graduated M.A.
at St. Andrews in 1890, M.B., C.M. at Aberdeen in 1894, and M.D. in 1898.
He became M.R.C.P., London, in 1900, and F.R.C..P. in 1916. Dr. MacLeod
was physician for skin diseases to the London County Council special
hospitals. He was a past-President of the British Association of
Dermatology and of the Dermatology Section of the Royal Society of
Medicine. He contributed many articles to medical journals and
encyclopaedias, and published several volumes on the diseases of the
skin. His books: TEXTBOOK ON DISEASES OF THE SKIN, HANDBOOK OF
PATHOLOGY OF THE SKIN, and BURNS AND THEIR TREATMENT have had a
world-wide reputation. Dr. MacLeod became a member of the Clan
MacLeod Society (London Branch) at its formation in 1938, and was
elected President in 1947. "Dr. MacLeod was a fine representative of the
Clan MacLeod -- kind, hospitable and generous." He married on 24th May
1897, Eva Jane (who was born on 19th February 1873, and died on 9th
June 1954), daughter of Joseph Ruston, Esq., Lincoln, with issue.
