James Johnstone MacLeod, who was born in 1831, emigrated to Australia, and lived at Beaufort, Victoria. He married Elizabeth, daughter of a Paisley man of the name of Adam, and had issue. James Johnstone MacLeod, who died in 1879, was succeeded in the representation of the family of Brittle by his eldest son.
