!SOURCE: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon, THE MACLEODS: THE GENEALOGY OF CLAN, Section III, "Cadet Families", Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society, 1970, pp. 130, 132. There is nothing known about John, 2nd of the family of Drynoch. Probably he ws the first of the family to have a tack of Drynoch. He is buried in the old grave-yard of Trien [a church was built at Trien in 1642 by order of the Synod of Argyll, and its foundations can still be traced. The burial ground is still in use.], which dates from 1642. He married Catherine Campbell, with issue. John MacLeod, 2nd of the family of Drynoch, died 1688, and was succeeded by his son.
