John (Rev.)... was born on 27th December 1788, and studied for the ministry at King's College, Aberdeen. He was ordained, on 3rd May 1832, to Harris, translated, on 8th May 1844, to Sleat, and, on 28th January 1851, to Kilmuir, where he died on 2nd September 1869. He married, on 1st October 1840, Jane Finlayson, daughter of Dr. Alexander MacLeod (the well-known DOTAIR BAN) of the MacLeods of Marishadder, Trotternish, Skye, with issue.
