!BIOGRAPHY: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE MACLEODS--THE GENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society, 1968, p. 12. Was born, 3rd July 1853, at Benyeo, Apsley, Victoria, and was educated at the Church of England Grammar School at Geelong. He took up pastoral pursuits and had grazings properties in Victoria and New South Wales. He was an oustanding amateur rider, and one of the founders of the Victoria Amateur Turf Club. He married Marion Roberson McGilchrist, with issue.
