!MENTION: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE MACLEODS--THE GENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan MacLeod Society, 1968, p. 42. Duncan KinlochŠ was born in 1894, and was educated at Glenalmond and Sandhurst. He was commissioned in the Black Watch on 15th August 1914, and was wounded on 22nd November of that year at Pilkem in the First Battle of Ypres. After a spell of home service, he rejoined his regiment and took part in the heavy fighting at Delville Wood during the Battle of the Somme. He retired from the army in 1921, and took up the farming of mushrooms at Loxwood, Sussex. Duncan Kinloch Kirk married, as his first wife, Dorothy Louise, daughter of Major-General Nichols, Royal Marines, with issue, a daughter, Virginia. He married as his second wife, Mary Ney, without issue. He married, as his third wife, Patricia O'Sullivan, with issue, a son, Duncan Murray Kinloch, born on 4th September 1951, and a daughter, Vanessa Kelty, who was born on 3rd December 1952.
