Rudolph, born at Heukolom in 1856, ...died at Velp in 1928. He was a Commander of the 1st Regiment of Infantry at Malang in the Dutch East Indies. He married (1) at Amsterdam on 11th July 1895 Margaretha Geertruida Zelle, who later styled herself Mata Hari. She was born at Leeuwarden on the 7th August 1876 and was shot at Vincennes on the 15th October 1917. She was the daughter of Adam Zelle and Antjie van de Meulen. She was a woman of considerable beauty, an expert East Indian dancer who became the rage of Paris before the Great War 1914-18. Rudolph MacLeod had divorced her before this, on 26th April 1906, and married (2) at Rheden on 22nd November 1907 Elizabeth Marina Chritina van der Mast, daughter of Gysbert van der Mast and Antjie Belser. He divorced her on the 30th July 1917 and married (3) Grietjie Meijer, who was born at Warfum in 1891, daughter of Albert Meijer and Gerritdina Schoonveld. Rudolph MacLeod had issue from his first marriage.
