Norman, LL.D. (Aberdeen University, 1865), studied law, and became an
advocate, then was appointed Professor of Scots Law at the University
of Edinburgh, and finally Sheriff of Roxburghshire. He died on 2nd August
1914, having had no issue by his wife, G. G. Thomson.
