John, who was born in 1818, and married a lady of the surname of Crossland, Marlboro County, South Carolina. He went to Texas in 1877, and died in 1879. By his wife, who died in 1884, he had issue.

!CORRECTION: Toni McLeod Allen, tiallen@@megsinet.net 991107 There is reference to a book called "Our MacLeod Ancestry.² It is noted that it was privately printed and published in the USA in 1942. Can you give me any more information on this book, such as the author? I also noted that the information on John McLeod, the son of Daniel McLeod and Catherine Evans, who was born in 1818 and married Isabella Crosland is incorrect. This is shown on page 67 and 68 in the book, Section III, MacLeod Cadet Families. John W. McLeod was my great grandfather and lived and died in Marlboro County, South Carolina. His son, Edward Crosland McLeod, who was my grandfather left notes on his family, which I have been using to create our family report.
