John the youngest son became tenant of Auchork in Trotternish. He
served ten years in the old Highland regiment. He was wounded in the
arm in the battle of Fontenoy, April 30. 1745. He married Mary M'Lean
natural daughter of Doctor John M'Lean chamberlain to Lord M'Donald, and
by her had two sons, Kenneth and Angus, and two daughters, Elizabeth
and Mary.
