Accommodation in Assynt

Assynt is a somewhat remote region of Scotland, and there are not many large establishments in the area.  We have arranged for accommodation in two places in Inchnadamph, near Lochinver.  The Inchnadamph Hotel is the more formal of the two, and has catering facilities with enough capacity for our Clan dinner.   The nearby Inchnadamph Lodge is less formal and is frequently used by academic research teams and for family vacations.  Both facilities are located in an extraordinarily scenic area.  It is a short walk from the Lodge to the Hotel.

Both the Hotel and Lodge will hold a block of rooms for us until 1st June 2010, after which reservations cannot be guaranteed.  Please contact the Hotel or Lodge directly to inquire about room availability and prices and to make your own reservations, using the information below.

Inchnadamph Hotel
Inchnadamph Lodge
The Inchnadamph Hotel will be the site of Parliament registration, catered group meals, and the access point for chartered transportation.   Rooms in the hotel are more formal and more expensive than the nearby Inchnadamph Lodge. Rooms in the Lodge are attractive and comfortably appointed, but the facility is more like a hostel and less expensive than the Hotel.  The Lodge is about 100 meters from the Hotel.  In addition to catered events, Parliamentarians staying at the Lodge may use the pub and meal services at the Hotel.
Rates per person (2009): Bed and breakfast £38.50, all prices are for en-suite rooms with either a bath or shower. Rates per person (2009): bunk space  £16.75; space in twin/double room £24.50; space in triple room £21 (includes breakfast).
Important note: when you look at the booking information for the Inchnadamph Lodge on the internet, it will appear as though the Lodge is completely occupied during our visit. This is because the rooms have all been reserved for us. Please contact the Lodge directly to find out which rooms are still available.

Accommodation in Dunvegan

Persons attending Parliament in Dunvegan will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation on Skye.  It is advisable to find accommodation as close to the village of Dunvegan as possible.  Beds in and around Dunvegan are somewhat limited and if you will not have a car, early booking is especially recommended.

Visit Scotland (formerly known as the Scottish Tourist Board) maintains a registry of approved and rated accommodation, and can be contacted at http://www.visitscotland.com or by telephone at +44 (0)845 22 55 121 (lines are open (GMT) M-F: 9AM-5:30PM, closed on Saturday and Sunday).

For specific information about Dunvegan, email the Dunvegan Tourist Office or call them at +44 (0)1470 521581. Their mailing address is: 2 Lochside, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, IV55 Scotland.

Other accommodation not registered with Visit Scotland may be available locally, but must be booked directly with the owner. Your best source for finding these establishments would be to search the internet. You may also email your questions to parliament@clanmacleod.org.
